A 5-min idea to transform your meetings!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I wanted to share with you a fun way to add gratitude to your weekly/monthly meeting.

Why gratitude? Well, studies show that people that practice gratitude weekly are more optimistic, feel better about their lives, go less to the doctor AND exercised more! Basically, it's wellness initiative that costs $0.00 and supports your team's health in a simple way!

So, how do you add gratitude to your weekly/monthly meeting? Easy: I call it a "Gratitude Tour". If you have an agenda (which you should def have!), add it as the first thing you discuss after you welcome your team to the meeting. A Gratitude Tour asks everyone in the meeting to say 1-3 things they are grateful that happened during the week at work or co-worker they are grateful to. Team members can absolutely share personal things they are grateful for but they must say at least one thing that happened at work or one co-worker they are grateful to.

This simple, yet powerful, practice has the potential to SHIFT how the whole meeting is perceived by your team. Imagine knowing you get to share gratitude BEFORE getting into the nitty gritty for your weekly or monthly meeting - that's a breath of fresh air! I've seen it in practice in a few organizations and its power is amazing: it adds lightness, warmth, and connection to any meeting.

So...this week I challenge you to start this powerful practice. In your next meeting add the gratitude tour, explain it's purpose, power, and how it works. Let me know how it goes!
